Our Mission
The Fremont Unified District Teachers Association exists to advocate for and protect the well-being of its members; work collaboratively to improve the conditions of teaching and learning; ensure that the human dignity and civil rights of all students and educators are protected; and promote a just, equitable, and democratic society.
Our History
The Fremont Unified District Teachers Association (FUDTA) was chartered in 1965 and is the professional organization for the certificated personnel of the Fremont Unified School District. We are a charter of the California Teachers Association/National Education Association (CTA/NEA). Our organization represents a wide range of certificated personnel from classroom teachers (including preschool through the adult school level), nurses, speech/language pathologists, counselors, program specialists, psychologists, teachers on special assignments, library media technicians, and substitutes. Our total membership is approximately 1,700 full and part-time professionals. Our organization is led by a fourteen-member Executive Board who is elected by the membership and a Site Representative Council of 130 members.
FUDTA believes that all children should have their education delivered to them by trained professionals who work in a clean, safe environment. We are the public schools. We support public education. And, FUDTA is proud of the job we do for the students of the Fremont Unified School District.
